- Choose a Test Pad: Hover your cursor over the LEFT, MIDDLE, or RIGHT test buttons.
- Perform Normal Clicking: Click the pad repeatedly at a normal pace. The pad will flash orange to confirm registering the click.

The Technical Details (Simplified)
Traditional mechanical mice use a tiny copper spring leaf inside the switch. When you press the button, the copper leaf bends and touches a contact point, completing the circuit.
However, metal is elastic. When the copper leaf hits the contact point, it doesn’t just sit flat instantly—it bounces off the surface several times before resting. This is called contact bounce. A brand-new switch bounces for less than 1-2 milliseconds, which mouse microcontrollers easily filter out using a debounce algorithm (ignoring inputs for the first 5-10ms). As the metal spring wears down, loses tension, or gathers dust, it vibrates longer (sometimes up to 40-50ms). Once the bounce duration exceeds the manufacturer’s debounce algorithm, the computer starts registering multiple distinct clicks!
